Our purpose is to encourage others to delve into and learn about the exciting history of Sutton, Massachusetts. We provide resources for learning and we promote the appreciation and celebration of our New England past through events, lectures, and publications. We have established a museum in which historic documents, relics, and objects of interest are preserved and on display for public benefit. We have acquired several historic buildings and work to preserve and protect these monuments to our past so that visitors may gain an understanding of life as it once was. We strive to chronicle stories of our times so a record is available to those who will take our place in the future. We are a vibrant group, curious about history, who enjoy learning something new, sharing something old, and re-telling yarns of yore. New members are warmly welcomed. The Sutton Historical Society produces a quarterly publication entitled The BULLETIN which is mailed to members, area libraries/historical societies, the Boston Library, the Smithsonian Institute and others. In this newsletter, history comes alive and proves once again that truth can be stranger than fiction. Click here for Sutton Historic Sites Tour Guide.
